I think one could safely say that the internet cosplay world is divided into two factions:
sailormoon's fanboys, fangirls and genuine buddies, and those who view
sailormoon as an amazing source of grossly distracting entertainment. Of course, one could even say there are third and fourth factions of pure haters, and of people who really want to see her shamed to the point of exile in the community. Many probably believed this already happened from the outing a few months ago, where a good lot of her former friends finally got sick of her ways...
But this is complicating an otherwise simple idea.
When I think of the people entering into most of these hilarious dramafests, I sometimes picture overweight teenage girls with pimply faces, long dull hair in a ponytail, and all black. And a black messanger Kenshin/NERV bag, possibly with a yaoi comic tucked inside. Okay, that's taking it a bit too deep, but maybe someone gets the idea. And on second thought, cosplayers are a bit more vain than the all-black dressing type. Damn, I totally fucked this up.
Sometimes, good cosplay is "good cosplay" because everyone's friends think so.
